Instructor: Dr. László Lovász
Course description:
This course is intended for Master's students. The language of instruction is English.
This semester the main topic is
The structure of very large graphs (networks) is becoming a crucial topic in a number of applications of mathematics.
Often, one can approximate very large graphs by „continuous” structures.
Such structures, under strange names such as „graphons” and „graphings”, can be introduced as limit objects of growing graph sequences,
where the members get more and more similar in one sense or the other.
The course will cover the fundamentals of this theory.
